Homework:
Homework is often a cause of frustration for students and parents alike. Experts say parents can help children learn by creating the right atmosphere and setting a routine for doing homework. Professor Lucy Calkins believes practicing good study skills every day is the most important thing. Calkins advises parents to ''show interest, generate excitement, ...that helps them grow bigger thoughts than they would on their own." Below you will find the most up to date homework sheet to best support your child. Homework Sheet for October 13, 2017 -- October 27, 2017 |
Reading Logs:
We want children to think about their identities as readers and know that what we ask them to do in school is as authentic as what readers do outside of school. We want them to be engaged in their reading and to take responsibility for their own learning. Reading logs provide valuable information. They are a tool that readers can use to develop agency, independence and insight as a member of a reading community. 4th_grade_reading_log.pages |
